Things that can bring on the panic attacks

1.Temperature above 100.

2.A mere thought of a febrile seizure.

3.Stuffy,sniffly nose and going crazy over the chances of an earinfection (dealing with it right now)

4.Misplacement of my forehead thermometer.

5.Strange cough and going crazy over a possible infection.

6.Tugging ears which could be a sign of an earinfection.

7.Administering any kind of medicine ; tears, fight and vomiting involved in the process are unbearable.

8.Just one bottle of infant tylenol or motrin in the cabinet. 2 of each is a minimum must.

26 weeks-Complications & Bedrest

The pregnancy was easy breezy until the 26th week.We did our regular ultrasound and checkups with our doc who referred my pregnancy to be a textbook pregnancy. Our nurse and us would chat for hours. There was the regular check of cervical length which was 3 or 4.In a textbook pregnancy, the length reduces to 1 and lower as the due date approaches.

The technician paged for the doctor when it was found that the length has gone down to1.2 It was not a good sign because it is associated to preterm labor.I remember crying expecting the worst and asking thenurse whether the kiddos will make it if they decide to come out this early.

The doctor looked into details & put me on complete bedrest .I was allowed to get up to eat and take bathroom breaks .The next ultasound, after 2 weeks showed that the length was still at 1.2.Thankfully,the bedrest was workingto keep it consistent.Week after week on bed makes you lose your mind, but it was for the best.I continued the bedrest up until the end of the pregnancy.

NST's started at 32 weeks.Deva-Baby A,the breech baby who was squished up due to lack of space always failed the test. The machine could never pick up her heart rate, and we would end up in doing an ultrasound to check .

At about 35 weeks.the fluid surrounding Deva started decreasing. The doctor told that if the fluid decreases more the next day,she will do an emergency C-section. By gods grace and heartfelt prayers of our parents and family, nothing changed and I was allowed to carry them a few more days

The delivery was at 37w5d on July 13,2009.They were 5lb 10 oz and 5 lb 15 oz each.

First Ultrasound -Dec 2008

I have been wanting to pen down our twin ultrasound experience for quite some time.errmmm..2 years to be exact. We had our first ultrasound at 8 or 9 weeks;the date was Dec 17.Our doctor, monitor and everything else was set and the procedure began. The doctor stopped and showed us a small flickering followed by a heartbeat sound .It may have taken 15 sec to get the flickering;it felt like hours because of the anticipation and tension.
I was tensed and M was extremely overwhelmed when we heard the heartbeat.

A few seconds into the scan, the doctor goes AND.I remember asking him,is there more???He says yep, seems like it.Eventhough we knew that the chances of multiples were high, the feeling was disbelief .In a couple of seconds,we got to see another flicker and the sweet heartbeat of Baby B.The heart beats were 117 and 119.

This is the first ultrasound picture

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Happy newyear to everyone.May this year bring happiness, fun ,success and rest to all..

My new year resolutions..

1.Stop procrastinating.

Manoj always says that I am very bad in maintaining relationships with friends and family via the phone which is sadly very true..It is not that I dont care about what is going on.Because of my bad habit of procrastinating everything,talking/contacting people never happens

2.Call a friend or a family member a day
.

Since it is Jan 4,I should have talked to 4 people, and I have talked to 0.YIKES!!!Am I a procrastinator or what????

Lets see..1 and 2 are already in the dumps. So Im going to go to 3.

3.Excercise regularly to avoid repeated chronic back injuries.

My back has gone out twice in 2 months;disc slip, strained and injured muscles, the whole package..Its no picnic with no mobility and total inability to function.

Finally..
The word of the day because of its over overusage...the winner is procrastinate.

Putting down a teddy bear to sleep-Devanshi style

1.Take your teddy and put it on the floor

2.Sing to it.Devu's fav lullaby is vavaavo, her version is babaao.

3.Take a long and thick TV remote control and beat the teddy whilst babaabying.

4.Take the bear in your arm and jam it to the wall repeatedly.

5.There,you have your dead, oops asleep teddy.

Thomman ayayumbol Chaandi murukum

Not a word or sentence that the kiddos use, people.
Its a ' saying 'in mayalam which means that when someone
loosens up,the other unexpectadly tightens up.

Well.this happened in our case yesterday.W e tried to deal with
deva's fear by making her sit in the drivers seat of the parked car
in the broad daylight .In half an hr,she was fine about the car and
carseat and rode happily around .We,being so proud of ourselves are highfiving eachother and doing all the victory dance and stuff.

Later,we loaded all them and started the car;screaming followed.
yep,thats right,it was ISHU. Aah!!!!!!!!!!

The ride to the temple was oh,sooo fun!!!!

Our kids are scared of..

Deva -She is absolutely scared of sitting in a moving car This is a new development for her and us,and  it has been going on for 2 weeks now.Its not that she is scared of the car seat. She happily sits in it,but the moment the vehicle moves ,the happy camper becomes unhappy

Ishu-She is scared of  exhaust fans in  bathrooms. The first thing she does is slowly look up and say 'pechi' as in pedi(scared)when she is in the bathroom.I dont see her getting potty trained in the near future.
